Ngaari Laaw is een Senegalese muziekgroep, onder leiding van Abou Thiam, een traditionele Afrikaanse volkszanger en van afkomst Pulaar (ook Peulh geheten, van nomadische origine).
De groep richt zich met muziek en clips via verschillende media vooral tot het Pulaar sprekende publiek van Senegal en brengt zo onderwerpen als aids, vrouwenbesnijdenis en toegang tot zuiver water onder de aandacht.
Eva’s cd “Over & weer” contains a song that was never really on the cd, but that was available on iTunes. For only € 0,99 people could buy the song and support a school in Dakar: Asappe/Ceppe (Association Sénégalaise d’aide pour la promotion et la protection de l’enfance / Centre d’entraide pour la promotionde l’enfance).
Sy Cheik Oumar Ba is the founder of this school and also a friend of Eva. He and his compagnons want to give young man and women in Senegal the chance to be well educated and gain a diploma, so they can find a job and have a better life.
